To begin, we cream butter, sugar, and icing sugar together to create a rich, sweet base. We then add egg, full cream milk, buttermilk, and canola oil. Together, these ingredients create a wonderfully soft, moist, and tender cupcake.

Next, we fold in our gluten free flour blend, combining self-raising and plain flour to create the ideal texture. We also add baking powder and bicarbonate of soda, which help the cupcakes rise beautifully and create a light, fluffy crumb. Meanwhile, a little water helps bring the batter together and gives it the perfect consistency.

For flavour, we add vanilla essence and vanilla extract for a warm, classic sweetness. A touch of salt balances the sweetness while enhancing the buttery flavour. For our chocolate variation, cocoa powder adds a rich, indulgent chocolate taste that pairs beautifully with the sweet buttercream.

Once the cupcakes have cooled, we top each one with smooth, creamy buttercream made from butter and icing sugar. Finally, we add playful fondant eyes to give every cupcake its signature spooky finish.
